Description

"Côtes du Rhône par Excellence". Fruity and fleshy with beautiful tannins, its a great everyday wine.

Terroir

The terraces are rich in quartz and marl limestone.

The vintage

After the solar and Mediterranean 2015 vintage, 2016 is very structured and fresh. The wines are flattering right from the first months but their balance will carry them for many years.

Process

After the harvest is sorted and destemmed, vinification takes place in stainless steel and oak. Ageing partly in wood fermenters and partly in stainless steel vats for 8 months.

This Côtes-du-Rhône 2016 presents a beautiful balance between red fruit, black fruit and spices. On the palate, freshness, roundness and soft tannins add character to this wine. The finish is highlighted by aromas of liquorice sticks. This wine is balanced and smooth for your enjoyment.

Wine Advocate

A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Maison les Alexandrins les Terrasses de l’Eridan features clay and garrigue-laced cherry aromas and flavors. It’s mediumbodied, with ample tension, a taut, barely ripe texture and a softly dusty finish. Drink it over the next few years.

Wine Enthusiast

Approachable, juicy blackberry and cassis flavors are crisply balanced in this medium-bodied red. It's a pert, fruity wine nuanced by hints of crushed earth and mineral as well as fine, persistent tannins. It's a widely appealing wine to enjoy young.

If you are in a wine shop or supermarket and see this wine, it works as a last minute pick up. It has balance, and dark general fruit, with good acidity and tannin. It is not going to knock anyone out of the park, but is a solid, easy drinking red for a wine table at a party, or maybe a gift for a host.

Vinous

Dark ruby. Ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and floral pastille aromas and flavors, along with a hint of smokiness that builds with air. In a weighty, rich style, showing a touch of cracked pepper on the broad finish, which betrays just a hint of tannins.
