Marked by contrasting climatic conditions, the 2025 vintage was a challenging but decidedly promising year. After flowering under intense sun, a hailstorm at the end of June, then a scorching August, the vines showed remarkable resilience. While yields remained modest, the quality of the concentrated, perfectly healthy grapes, with exemplary ripeness, hints at great wines. The Roussanne and Marsanne, particularly early, opened the white harvest before the later Viognier, providing a good spread of harvests. The Syrah, meanwhile, reached homogeneous ripeness across all appellations, requiring a quick and precise harvest. In the cellar, the reds revealed very healthy grapes and concentrated musts, favoring gentle fermentations and giving birth to wines with deep color, fine tannins, and gourmet aromatics. The whites, in excellent sanitary condition, are distinguished by their acidic balance, well-integrated fat, and beautiful aromatics typical of the northern grape varieties. Both whites and reds require careful aging to express the full complexity of a mature, harmonious vintage destined for excellent cellaring potential. Like other years ending in the number 5, 2025 could well be among the very great vintages.

Located at altitude in the Ardèche hills, our vines benefit from cool temperatures that help preserve the natural acidity and aromatic vivacity characteristic of Viognier, ensuring the balance and freshness that distinguish Le Cabanon.

The harvest is carried out early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the berries. Viognier has a thick skin, which makes extracting its aromatic palette difficult, so a long, low-temperature pressing is performed. The must is then fermented at a low temperature (20°C) and aged in stainless steel tanks to retain all the freshness and fruitiness of the wine.

Pretty bright yellow color. Particularly intense, the nose is typical of the Viognier grape with notes of white peach and apricot, delicately blended with nuances of white flowers. Full-bodied and generous, the palate reveals superb aromatic intensity, remarkably balanced by a nice acidity and a hint of freshness, reflecting its high-altitude terroir.
